A 27-year-old woman who was behind the wheel of a car that struck and killed an 85-year-old pedestrian in Gunbarrel in June was charged Tuesday with careless driving resulting in death.
The Colorado State Patrol reported at the time of the accident that Kathryn Wulliman, of Westminster, apparently was distracted as she was manually inputting data into a GPS device in her Nissan Maxima. Her car struck Dorothy Hoffins, of Longmont, who was crossing Lookout Road at its intersection with 79th Street at about 3:40 p.m. June 2, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
According to the State Patrol’s preliminary investigation, there is no stop sign on Lookout Road, and it appears Wulliman was driving near the 50-mph speed limit. There were no signs of drug or alcohol use.
