Lakewood police Wednesday identified the woman and child killed Monday afternoon in a car crash on C-470 near Interstate 70.
Eight-year-old Mariah Brower died at the scene. Her mother, Lynn Brower, 40, died from her injuries Monday evening.
A 10-year-old girl, who was not named, remains hospitalized.
Investigators said the Browers’ Ford Explorer was going east just after 2 p.m. when it collided with an Oldsmobile Aurora, ran off the highway, then rolled several times down an embankment near Rooney Road.
Rebecca Niggeler of Silverthorne, the 57-year-old driver of the Oldsmobile, was treated for minor injuries.
Toxicology tests are pending, but detectives do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor.
