A cat was rescued and resuscitated by firefighters late Wednesday after a fire broke out in a unit of the Gold Run Condominium complex at 2805 Sundown Lane in Boulder.
No one was home except two cats, Simon and Oliver. Simon died in the fire. The alarm was called in by neighbors who smelled smoke and heard the smoke alarm going off just before 11:30 p.m., according to the Boulder Fire Department.
The apartment was heavily damaged, with dollar loss put at $50,000.
No one was injured, but Oliver had to be resuscitated using a pet CPR mask.
