Start your coffins!
The Emma Crawford Memorial Festival and Race will take place Saturday in Manitou Springs. Costumed impersonators of Emma Crawford ride on coffinlike vehicles pulled by teams of four. A parade and awards for the best Emma, the most creative coffin and the best overall entourage take place after the race. Registration begins at 10 a.m., the parade is at noon. or 719-685-5089
Trick or Treat Trot.
The 17th annual Trick or Treat Trot will take place Oct. 31 in the streets of Vail Village. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. at the Vail Public Library with a Halloween story hour, and then children up to age 10 and their families can wander through Vail from 2 to 5 p.m. visiting stores that display an oversized jack-o’-lantern bag at their entrance to collect safe treats.
