A man was shot several times early this morning in southeast Denver and police have four people in custody.
The shooting happened at about 1 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Albion Street, said John White, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
Police were called to the area on reports of a “disturbance or altercation,” White said, and when officers arrived they found the victim who had been shot “several” times.
The victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition. Further details on his injuries were not available.
After the shooting patrol officers spotted a vehicle nearby that matched a description of a suspect vehicle involved in the incident, White said. Officers pursued the vehicle after the driver tried to flee.
An officer used a “PIT maneuver,” bumping or clipping the rear of the fleeing vehicle with the pursuing car, to bring it to a stop, White said.
Four people in the fleeing vehicle were taken into custody.
A motive in the shooting was not released.
