All lanes of Santa Fe Drive and Interstate 25 have reopened after delays caused by a forklift on the back of a flatbed truck striking the Interstate 25 overpass near Mississppi Avenue.
The left two lanes of southbound I-25 over Santa Fe Drive and all the northbound lanes of I-25 were closed temporarily, but all were reopened by 4:30 p.m., according to Mindy Crane, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Crane said that a CDOT inspector determined the damage was more cosmetic than structural.
The northbound lanes of Santa Fe may be re-opened late this afternoon.
Crane said that fallen concrete has to be removed from Santa Fe.
She said it appears that one of the bridge’s girders may have been bent by the impact.
