AURORA, Colo.—One man is dead and five people are injured in the collision of two SUVs in Aurora. Police say four of the injured are children.
The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m. Saturday as each of the vehicles tried to move into the center lane as they approached the I-225 and I-70 interchange.
Police say a Nissan SUV driven by 42-year-old Johnnie Hines of Denver rolled over and two eight-year-old children were ejected. Hines died at the scene.
Those children, two other children in the vehicle and a woman were all hospitalized.
Police spokesman Lt. Jim Steciuk says an investigation is under way and fault for the crash hasn’t been determined.
