DENVER—Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper is finding out it takes some patience to get through Colorado’s ballot.
The Denver mayor had to fill out an early-voting ballot twice Saturday after he accidentally voted not to retain a county judge who is a friend.
Under the glare of television cameras Saturday morning, he asked for a second ballot, saying, “The pencil went to the wrong place. I blew it.”
Hickenlooper says the state’s long ballot takes a lot of time to read, and he learned like a lot of other voters that you have to be careful.
He launched a five-day bus tour of the state Saturday to court votes.
