A 35-year-old Denver man is facing numerous charges that allege he fired a rifle outside his home in the 300 block of West Custer Place, then allowed two teenaged boys to fire guns as well.
Anthony David Gonzales was drunk at the time, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said today in announcing charges against him stemming from the gunfire that forced lockdowns at nearby schools last Wednesday afternoon.
The boys also shot pellet guns at passing cars, causing $2,500 in damages, prosecutors said.
Gonzales remains in the Denver Detention Center on $10,000 bond on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
