The Denver Police Department’s 16th annual District 6 Halloween party for kids is Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the district headquarters at 1566 Washington St.
Besides “lots of candy,” police are offering lots of festivities, as well, for children 12 years old and younger.
Children can get a free picture with a police officer, photo identification cards for kids, as well as see cops on horseback, motorcyles and bicycles.
The event also includes McGruff the Crime Dog, SWAT officers, a mobile crime lab, fire trucks, ambulances, a Colorado State Patrol “chase car,” a “very tall policeman” and surprises, according to the department.
The event is free, but parking is limited, so carpooling or drop offs are encouraged. Police warned that any vehicles parked illegally will be ticketed or towed.
