ESTES PARK — The Colorado Division of Wildlife is looking for the person who shot and wounded a bull elk with an arrow in Estes Park, where it was a popular sight with residents and visitors.

The elk was euthanized after it could no longer walk or eat. The meat was donated.

Wildlife officials say the elk was struck by an arrow in the spine near its hind quarters on or around Oct. 15. District wildlife manager Rick Spowart said the elk was probably the biggest bull in the area and a star attraction at the Estes Park Elk Fest.
