Have a special holiday dress you’ve worn only once? A sparkly handbag that you won’t use again? Fancy dancing shoes that are just a pinch too tight? Bring them to the Holiday Fashions Swap Party, 5:30- 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Hodsons Bar and Grill at The Streets at SouthGlenn. Organized by Stacey Johnson, a former retailer who puts on A Paris Street Market and other local ventures, the event is a way to share what you can’t use and pick up some new treasures while doing very little damage to your bank account, she says. Admission is $15 at the door for those who bring a medium-sized shopping bag filled with like-new holiday, casual, or business fall-winter attire or accessories. Guests will get a shopping bag to fill during the swap, wine or champagne, refreshments, giveaways, and a fashion show emceed by stylist Meg Yarka of Just Another Original. Johnson will assemble a fashion show from some of the merchandise guests bring, and after the show, attendees will be able to “shop.” There will also be a boutique featuring independent designers and retailers so guests can shop before the fashion show at 7 p.m. All items remaining at the end of the evening will be donated to Goodwill Denver.
