Flying weather today is calmer than yesterday when hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled at Midwestern airports.
However, the wind impact is expected to increase this afternoon. Chicago O’Hare and Minneapolis airports were particularly hard hit on Tuesday and have issued ground delays into this evening.
At O’Hare, delays will average 20 minutes, and at Minneapolis, the average delay will be nearly three hours.
Denver International Airport has no ground delay today, though the National Weather Service has issued a red-flag warning for the Front Range for this afternoon that could impact flights. Northwest winds are predicted to range from 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
