The white smoke over Lakewood and the west side of Denver is from a controlled burn at Bear Creek Lake Park, according to Cindy Matthews of the West Metro Fire Protection District.
The park, which is just south of Morrison Road and east of C-470, is Lakewood’s biggest park.
The smoke is visible from downtown Denver.
