EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The signs of progress are small but noticeable for Brett Favre.

Favre missed his second straight day of practice for the Vikings on Thursday, but walked around the team’s facility without the oversized boot that had been protecting an ankle injury that is putting his league-record 291-straight starts streak in jeopardy.

The 41-year-old quarterback limped through the locker room with a heavy wrap on his ankle, which he injured in the loss to Green Bay on Sunday night.

Asked if he thought he could play against New Eng- land, Favre said, “I wouldn’t put anything past me, to be honest with you.”

Revis looking good

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Jets All-pro cornerback Darrelle Revis declared his bothersome left hamstring 100 percent healthy earlier in the week and was proving it on the practice field, making play after impressive play.

Revis, who missed two games after straining the hamstring against New England in Week 2, was extremely sore when he returned and was still not completely healthy in New York’s last game at Denver.

“He’s had a great week of practice,” defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said.

Britt denies accusation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt denies throwing a punch during a bar fight in a downtown Nashville night club last week.

Britt said he was falsely accused by 26-year-old Harold Pointer, who told police Britt joined in a fight and struck him several times during an altercation in the early hours of Oct. 22. A police investigation remains open.

Footnotes.

Rams running back Steven Jackson had surgery for a broken ring finger on his left hand Monday, and said there is no doubt he will play Sunday against the Panthers.

• Bills coach Chan Gailey is uncertain whether safety Jairus Byrd (thigh injury) and cornerback Terrence McGee (nerve problem) will be healthy enough to play at Kansas City.

• The Giants placed defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka on injured reserve because of a herniated cervical disc.
