When I saw that would be in Boulder this past Tuesday, I convinced and that we should do something a little out of the ordinary.

They were supportive, as always, but I’m the new guy around these parts, and my plan wasn’t…well…fully-baked.

We initially wanted to film the band busking on the Pearl Street mall during lunch, but the wind had other plans. We then secured the north patio of the Dushanbe Tea House for a semi-enclosed performance, and still, the wind had other plans.

We finally settled on a happy hour set at .

With nothing but a few viral updates and some homemade signs that read “Dr. Dog 4:30” taped to Conor’s door; we didn’t know what to expect.

Dozens of people packed Conor’s close quarters and sang along with the out-of-town band that carried a few of their instruments over from the — where their name was literally blowing off the marquee.

Some munched on hot food, others stuck to soft drinks (or Guinness), but everyone seemed to find some sort of respite from the daily grind — and from that howling wind — if only for a short while.
