Colorado author gets cozy
Knitting inspired local children’s book author Joanna Johnson, who will sign copies of her book, “Phoebe’s Sweater,” on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fancy Tiger Crafts, 1 S. Broadway. The book is illustrated by the author’s husband, Eric, and tells the story of a young mouse and her journey to becoming a big sister. During the course of the book, her mother knits her a sweater, the pattern for which is included at the end of the book. New York photographer Corinne May Botz spent a decade exploring reportedly haunted buildings for her new coffee table book, “Haunted Houses” ($40, Monacelli Press). After a spectral childhood experience of her own, Botz searched for ghost stories nationwide. The resulting book spotlights 80 haunted buildings, telling their stories through mysterious pictures and historical anecdotes.
