BROOMFIELD — Anthony Pugliese’s 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter Friday rallied Holy Family to a 35-32 victory over D’Evelyn and into third place in the 3A Metro North.

Pugliese ran for 124 yards and also caught a 5-yard TD pass to give the Tigers a momentary 28-25 lead earlier in the fourth quarter.

But D’Evelyn took a 32-28 lead on a 65-yard touchdown strike from Caleb Flack to Luke Stratman.

Pugliese and Jarred DeHerrera (100 yards and a touchdown) both topped 100 yards rushing for Holy Family (6-3, 4-2 Metro North), which has won two straight since losses to Skyview and John F. Kennedy.

Flack threw five touchdown passes, three in the second quarter, as D’Evelyn (5-4, 3-3) took a 25-7 halftime lead. Flack now has 30 touchdown passes for the season.

Chaparral 28, Mountain Vista 17.

Andrew Loudenback threw two touchdown passes as the fifth-ranked Wolverines overcame a 99-yard kickoff return by the Golden Eagles to clinch second place in the 5A Continental League. Christian Thomas’ 99-yard kickoff return pulled Mountain Vista to within 21-10 in the third quarter. Chaparral finished the regular season 7-2 (4-1 Continental) and won its fourth straight since losing to second-ranked Regis.

ThunderRidge 10, Douglas County 7.

The Grizzlies drove 83 yards in 12 plays, culminating with Logan Beck’s game-winning, 25-yard field goal with eight seconds left as ThunderRidge snapped a three-game losing streak to finish above .500 for the regular season. The win lifted the Grizzlies to 5-4, 2-3 in the Continental League, where Douglas County (2-7 overall) finished winless.

Akron 47, Yuma 30.

Jourdan Hottinger and Layne Crumley rushed for two touchdowns each as the eighth- ranked Rams beat the seventh- ranked Indians in a battle for second place in the 1A North Central League. Chance Friedly connected on two touchdown passes to Logan Merrill for Akron (6-3, 4-1). Yuma fell to 6-3 and 3-2.
