GREELEY — A University of Northern Colorado doctoral student has been arrested and banned from campus after he apparently began making threats and collecting a number of guns.
Eric Nicholas Kinder, 43, is in jail facing a $75,000 bond today and has been charged with menacing.
According to an arrest affidavit released Thursday, police said Kinder had “displayed dangerous behavior through his writings and schoolwork projects.”
On Monday, Kinder began showing up at campus administrative offices. UNC police stated Kinder insisted on speaking to administrators without an appointment, and his demeanor was described as “aggressive and inappropriate.”
Greeley detectives also researched Kinder’s Facebook postings, which included the statement “15 semesters at UNC. 15 guns to buy. 10 down, five to go.” The detectives found that Finder has purchased at least nine guns this year.
