A pedestrian who died in Denver after being hit by a truck, and possibly several other vehicles, has been identified.

Nathaniel Ware, 18, of Denver, was crossing East Alameda Avenue near Fairmount Drive when he was hit by a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The incident happened at about 6 a.m. Saturday. Ware died at the scene.

After being hit by the truck witnesses tried to direct traffic aware from Ware, but he may have been hit by three more vehicles, a 1990s red Lexus SUV, a silver sedan and a gold car, police said.

The driver of the truck, who has not been cited, stopped and called 911 to report the incident, which remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the fatal incident is asked to call police at 720 337-1000.
