El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for leads after a person leaving the Ray Nixon Power Plant on Sunday found a man lying unconscious on the side of Interstate 25.
The 20-year-old man, whose name was not released, was taken to a Colorado Springs hospital where he has since been drifting in and out of consciousness, according to Lt. Lari Sevene, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
Deputies were notified at 7:22 a.m. Sunday that the man had been found near mile marker 125 of I-25, Sevene said. Sevene was not known how the man ended up there, though it appears he was either assaulted or pushed out of a car.
The man had a head injury as well as cuts and scrapes across his body.
