Charlie Sheen‘s dad, himself a recovering alcoholic, is deeply concerned about his son, the Chicago Sun-Times’ Bill Zwecker reports.
Martin Sheen, long sober, is talking to execs at Charlie’s hit show, “Two and a Half Men,” about getting help for the actor in the wake of his latest wild party scandal in New York last week, according to two sources at the show. The elder Sheen is pushing for immediate rehab, preferably in Ireland because of its isolation, Zwecker reports.
But because of Charlie’s big paydays — $1.25 million per episode — his show’s producers are said to be reluctant to agree to more scheduling changes to accommodate his legal and personal problems and are holding out for the next show hiatus.
In the meantime, Charlie will be joined by a “minder” 24/7 to keep him away from drugs and alcohol.
His latest meltdown in which his Plaza Hotel room was trashed reportedly involved porn star Capri Anderson.
Meanwhile, Denise Richards says that she is protecting their daughters Sam, 6, and 5-year-old Lola from news of her ex husband’s exploits.
‘For my girls, they have no idea of anything going on,’ the 39-year-old actress and model told Wendy Williams on her morning talk show yesterday.
‘I’m very lucky at five and six years old, I can control what news is on and the Internet. But they’re getting close to where they’re able (to see it).
‘I really protect them from all that and I’m so grateful that they’re still young enough where I can keep it under wraps.’
Richards, who is currently promoting her new TV series “Blue Mountain State,” was on a week-long trip with Sheen and their daughters in New York before the incident happened in the early hours of Oct. 25.
Richards accompanied her former husband to the hospital after he was found naked and drunk in The Plaza Hotel.
The rapper T.I. has reported for a second time to a federal prison to serve time for a weapons violation.
The 30-year-old T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, showed up shortly at the gates of the Forrest City, Ark., low-security prison, traveling in an entourage of two black Chevrolet suburbans.
Harris served about seven months in the Arkansas prison in 2009 before he was released last December on probation. Last month, a federal judge sentenced him to serve another 11 months in prison for breaking his federal probation after he was arrested on Sept. 1 in Los Angeles on drug charges.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles say they won’t file a felony drug charge against the rapper.
Newly engaged tennis champ Maria Sharapova may not have picked a wedding dress yet, but the Nike spokeswoman and designer says she’ll be designing her own shoes.
“I will for sure be wearing Cole Haan because everybody that’s been talking to me about weddings and comfortable shoes said, ‘you have to be sure that you’re wearing comfortable shoes,'” Sharapova told People at the 14th annual ACE awards presented by the Accessories Council at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York on Monday.
“I’m for sure going to design them.” The tennis pro, whose engagement to L.A. Lakers shooting guard, Sasha Vujacic, was announced last month, said besides designing her own wedding kicks, she is also taking some time to bask in the engagement glow, refusing to stress out over a venue or guest list.
“No, no, absolutely not, we’re going to take our time,” explained Sharapova, who picked up the Brand Collaboration Award last night. The Russian beauty, who is accustomed to wearing short tennis skirts, said she is open to the idea of a long traditional gown. “I think it depends on the design of the dress and how you feel about it,” Sharapova said.
