HIGHLANDS RANCH — A 2-acre brush fire that broke out near the Recreation Center at Northridge in Highlands Ranch was controlled at 3:42 p.m. Monday, about an hour after it was reported and after high winds pushed smoke up along the Front Range, said Roland Seno, operations chief for Littleton Fire Rescue.
Seno said the department sent four engines, three brush trucks and 25 firefighters to handle the blaze. No structures were damaged and no one was injured, he said.
