A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Saturday’s fatal shooting in an alley behind a residence at 36 Clarkson St., Denver police said today.
Jerry Allen Thompson was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
Denver Police Department spokesman John White said police responded to the alley between Clarkson and Emerson Streets, about 10:09 p.m. Saturday after residents in the area reported hearing shots.
Witnesses told police that shortly before the shooting, they had seen a man with a rifle.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said it has not yet identified the victim. An autopsy is being conducted today.
