A fire gutted the upper floor of a west Greeley house early this morning and caused extensive damage to the rest of the large home in the Poudre River Ranch neighborhood.
Flames were shooting from the windows of the second level of the house when Union Colony Fire/Rescue firefighters arrived at the house, 409 Horizon Circle, shortly after 7 a.m.
The house was not occupied.
Firefighters estimated $125,000 in damage.
Greeley police, who said no cause has been determined, have sealed off the area around the house and are treating it as a crime scene until a cause can be found.
