New Mexican silversmith Lawrence Baca will exhibit his jewelry in a trunk show from from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cry Baby Ranch. The artist, based in Santa Fe, creates pendants, rosaries, cuffs, handmade beads and crosses that evoke antique Native American and Spanish styles. Hand-stamped silver, turquoise, coral, gold and high-glossed carved wood are used in the pieces. “He’s got a very strong following throughout the Southwest,” says store owner Roxanne Thurman, noting it has been several years since Baca has visited Denver.
