Winter X Games star Levi LaVallee will attempt to prove he doesn’t need snow to break the world record for the longest snowmobile jump. LaVallee will make his jump on ramps set up at Embarcadero Marina Park on San Diego Bay on Dec. 31. He will have to clear a 300-foot water gap in his attempt to break Paul Thacker’s record of 301 feet. The only white in sight will be the turf covering the 1,000-foot wood run-in and some fake snow sprayed on the landing ramp. “It wasn’t exactly what I was thinking about jumping my sled, but I think we can make that work,” LaVallee said.
