DAVIE, Fla. — Brandon Marshall said the Dolphins are going to the playoffs regardless of who plays quarterback.
Marshall offered effusive praise Thursday for benched quarterback Chad Henne but said replacement Chad Pennington might provide a needed spark. Either way, Marshall guarantees a postseason berth.
“Absolutely,” the Pro Bowl receiver said. “Any minute now we’re going to put it together. I don’t know how many wins it’s going to take, but we’ll be there at the end.”
Heading into Sunday’s game against Tennessee, the Dolphins (4-4) trail the Jets and Patriots by two games in the AFC East. Miami ranks last in the conference in points.
Drop and give me 20, mister
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The entire Jets organization is doing push-ups for penalties — from the players to the owner.
Coach Rex Ryan is making his players and coaches drop and give him 10 for each penalty they commit in practice in an effort to cut down on mental mistakes in games.
When the team hit the grass after a penalty Wednesday, owner Woody Johnson and general manager Mike Tannenbaum joined in.

Jenn Sterger, the woman who allegedly received lewd photos and inappropriate text messages from Vikings quarterback Brett Favre in 2008, met with NFL investigators, according to her manager Phil Reese.
“We cooperated fully by providing them with substantial materials in our possession,” Reese said. “We now await the NFL’s decision.”
Meanwhile, Vikings receiver Percy Harvin missed practice for a second straight day because of a migraine headache.
