Jesse Lewis rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns, leading CSU-Pueblo to a 45-17 victory Saturday over Western New Mexico in Silver City, N.M.

Lewis’ first score broke the ThunderWolves’ (9-2, 7-2 RMAC) single-season record for the most rushing touchdowns in a season, and he finished the regular season with 14.

The ThunderWolves finished their regular season with nine wins, tying the school record set by the 1980 and 1982 teams. The 45-point output raised the ThunderWolves’ total points scored this season to 404, shattering the previous school record of 347, set by the 1982 team.

Adams State 28, Western State 19

GUNNISON — Trevor Eggleston passed for 215 yards and two touchdowns as the Grizzlies defeated the Mountaineers in the Colorado Classic. Western State (1-10, 1-8) scored 16 points in two minutes and 38 seconds in the fourth quarter, but Adams State (5-6, 4-5) held on to beat the Mountaineers for the ninth straight time.

Fort Lewis 36, New Mexico Highlands 13

DURANGO — The Skyhawks scored 27 points in the second half to defeat the Cowboys. Fort Lewis (3-7, 3-6) was led by QB Justin Peters, who threw for 251 yards and four TDs, two of which went to Justin Johnson, who finished with 127 receiving yards.

Chadron State 31, Mesa State 21

GRAND JUNCTION — The Mavericks allowed 24 unanswered points and managed only 129 yards of total offense as they fell to the Eagles. Chadron State (8-3, 7-2) held Mesa State (3-7, 3-6) to only nine first downs.
