CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo.—A skull discovered last weekend in rural Teller County may belong to a woman who was killed and dismembered in 2009.

Teller County Coroner Early Byrne tells The Pueblo Chieftain that the skull found by hunters had a bullet hole between the eyes.

Byrne says the skull could belong to 44-year-old Rebecca Magallanes, whose beheaded torso was found nearly a year ago in Custer County.

Byrne says formal indentification of the skull could come this week.

The victim’s live-in boyfriend, John Paul Williams, has been charged with her murder and is being held without bond in Fremont County.
