Apple Inc.’s iTunes will start selling Beatles songs for the first time, filling a major gap for the music site, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Apple forged the deal after talks with representatives of the Beatles and their record label, EMI Group Ltd., the Journal said, citing unidentified people familiar with the matter. The absence of the Beatles has been one of the most high-profile holes in the catalog of Apple’s digital store.
