AURORA, Colo.—Investigators in Arapahoe County are trying to figure out what led to a fatal shooting at a shooting range at Cherry Creek State Park south of Denver.
The sheriff’s office says one woman died at the range and the other was taken to the hospital with a head injury.
Range owner Doug Hamilton told The Denver Post that the women were shot nearly simultaneously.
Investigators say the women were using the same lane at the outdoor shooting range and no one was seen entering or leaving the women’s lane.
None of the more than 20 people at the range noticed any disagreement between the two women.
