The Colorado Mines football team had 18 players earn all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors, including the offensive and defensive player of the year and the coach of the year.

Orediggers quarterback Clay Garcia was named RMAC offensive player of the year, and defensive end Marc Schiechl earned the defensive award. Garcia led the conference in passing yards (3,813), touchdown passes (38) and passer rating (144.9), while Schiechl led the conference in sacks (10 1/2) and tackles for loss (17).

Mines’ Bob Stitt was selected coach of the year after leading the Orediggers to a 9-2 record, 8-1 in the conference, and a playoff berth for only the second time in school history. Stitt also was RMAC coach of the year in 2004.
