The Denver Rescue Mission has announced that after a slow start, 7,625 turkeys had been donated for Thanksgiving dinners.
The mission had hoped to collect 6,000, said Greta Walker, a spokeswoman for the mission. The extra birds allowed the mission to donate to outside organizations.
