Boutique browsing

Specialty vendors will show and sell scarves, jewelry, bath products and more in the boutique that accompanies the 34th annual L’Esprit Home Tour, benefiting Central City Opera. The tour, presented by the Central City Opera Guild, will feature seven Hilltop homes decorated for the Christmas and Hanukkah holiday seasons with festive tabletop settings and decor. Tours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The boutique, in the gym at Graland Country Day School, 30 Birch St., stays open until 4:30 p.m. Admission to the boutique is free; tickets for the home tour are $18 in advance through the Central City Opera box office at 303-292-6700, online at (service fees apply online) and at local King Soopers locations. Tickets at the door are $20. Those who want a sneak peek can get one at the patron party and tour from 6 to 9 tonight. Get over the blues

Want to know how to dress up your denim for a holiday party, or make jeans look appropriate in the office? Style consultant Dana Lynch of Elements of Image presents “When Fashionistas Get the Blues: Doing Denim Right,” 6-8 p.m. today at Blues Jean Bar. Fitting consultations, denim tips, refreshments, prize drawings and a 15 percent discount on all purchases are included in the free event. Testing

The Pavilions in downtown Denver will be hopping Saturday evening during Test Market, a fundraiser presented by the YesPlease- More pop-up store in support of Create Denver. From 8 p.m. to midnight, most of the action will center on the Glen- arm Great Room (site of the former Wolfgang Puck restaurant). The space will host live music, food and a craft bar, where Fancy Tiger and the Denver Handmade Alliance will help guests make wearable art. Brian Corrigan says people will get to sample the offerings of various cultural institutions — the Museum of Contemporary Art is turning the glass elevators into an amusement park ride; the Denver Art Museum which will have a confession booth; Fancy Tiger will host a fashion show and Ballet Nouveau will perform. Tickets are $15 at denver or on the day of the event at the YesPleaseMore pop-up store, Denver Pavilions, Suite 234. For $40, supporters can also attend Foodie Call with the Horndribbles. The dinner, which includes admission to Test Market, starts at 6 p.m.
