LAFAYETTE, Colo.—Lafayette police are investigating a possible murder-suicide after finding the bodies of a woman and a girl in a garage filled with exhaust fumes.
The Longmont Times-Call reports that police went to the home Wednesday after a woman living there failed to show up for work. No names have been released.
Police say no one answered the door and they looked in the garage after noticing condensation on the glass in the door. Officers saw someone in a vehicle.
The car wasn’t running. Police believe it ran out of gas.
Police Cmdr. Gene McCausey says it appears the two died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Police don’t know if the deaths were an accident, but don’t believe anyone else was involved.
