TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Cierra Bravard had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 16 Florida State to a 63-52 win over Colorado State on Thursday night.
Bravard made 6-of-11 shots from the floor and 7-of-9 free throws. Natasha Howard added nine points for the Seminoles (3-0).
Meixandra Porter scored 18 points — 15 in the second half — and Kim Mestdagh had 14 points, six rebounds and three steals for Colorado State (0-2), which outscored Florida State 43-30 in the second half.
The Seminoles led 16-2 after 12 minutes and 33-9 at halftime.
Colorado State made just 3-of-22 (13.6 percent) of its shots in the first half, when the Rams also had 16 turnovers. They finished with 22.
