SILT — A second school in Garfield County has shut off its drinking water after tests showed high levels of chemicals.
Cactus Valley Elementary in Silt is using bottled water after the town water supply violated state drinking water standards. The water exceeded limits for a class of chemicals called total trihalomethanes.
The (Glenwood Springs) Post Independent reports that this is the second time this year that Silt’s water has been in violation.
