A Colorado Springs Marine died Friday in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Sgt. Jason T. Smith died while conducting combat operations in Helman province, Afghanistan. He was a member of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Branch and based out of the Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan.
