DENVER—Federal immigration officials say they arrested 85 people in Colorado and Wyoming during a four-day operation targeting illegal immigrants with criminal records.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Monday that some of the people arrested last week had been previously convicted of serious crimes, including assault, sexual assault and possessing and selling dangerous drugs. ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok says most were arrested at home after weeks of investigations by immigration agents.
Eighty-two were arrested throughout Colorado and another three were arrested in Wyoming.
ICE’s Fugitive Operations Teams worked with local police during the operation that concluded Friday.
