The Crested Butte Nordic Center is here to help. Classic nordic and skate skiers are invited to work off their turkey dinner at 8,800 feet during the center’s annual Thanksgiving training camp Friday and Saturday. Clinics for recreational skiers and racers will be offered by professional instructors, including three-time Olympian Ingrid Butts, masters nordic world champion Murray Banks and Ross Matlock, a PSIA nordic and telemark examiner.
Clinics are limited to about 12 participants each; $40 for beginner clinics and $50 for intermediate and advanced training. A silent auction dinner, wax clinic, active isolated stretching class and movie night also are planned.
Lodging packages are available through the Elk Mountain Lodge () and The Ruby of Crested Butte bed and breakfast () nearby.
