LAHAINA, Hawaii — Kemba Walker scored 29 points and Connecticut beat a top-10 team for the second straight day, knocking off No. 8 Kentucky with an 84-67 rout to win the Maui Tournament on Wednesday night.

Connecticut (5-0) wore down second-ranked Michigan State in the semifinals and steamrolled the Wildcats (4-1) with a massive run to close the first half.

No. 2 Michigan St. 76, No. 13 Washington 71

LAHAINA, Hawaii — The Spartans (4-1) trailed by 10 after a turnover-filled first half but charged back behind Kalin Lucas, who seven points during an opening 18-5 run that put Michigan State up 52-49 and hit two game-sealing free throws in the closing seconds.

Lucas lingered on the floor after Washington’s Justin Holiday fell on his left knee late in the game but returned to the game quickly and finished with a flourish, shooting 9-of-13 from the field with four 3-pointers.

NEW YORK — Corey Fisher scored a career-high 26 points, Mouphtaou Yarou had 13 points and 16 rebounds and the Wildcats (5-0) used a game- opening 8-0 run to get past the Bruins (3-1).

No. 11 Missouri 83, La Salle 71

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico — Marcus Denmon scored a season-high 21 points and made five 3-pointers, including one that capped a 14-2 run and put the Tigers (4-0) ahead 66-55 with eight minutes remaining in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge.

No. 15 Minnesota 84, North Dakota State 65

MINNEAPOLIS — Blake Hoffarber scored 24 points, including four 3-pointers, Trevor Mbakwe had 12 points and seven rebounds and Ralph Sampson III finished with nine points and three blocks for the Gophers (6-0).

No. 24 Tennessee 77, VCU 72

NEW YORK — Scotty Hopson had 18 points when nobody else seemed able to score, and Tobias Harris added 15 points for the Volunteers (4-0).

Brandon Rozzell hit six 3-pointers in the second half, after missing all four attempts in the first half, and finished with 23 points to lead the Rams (3-1), who twice got within two in the final six minutes, but couldn’t come all the way back.

Chaminade 68, Oklahoma 64

LAHAINA, Hawaii — Steven Bennett scored on a contested drive with 16 seconds left, and the Division II Silverswords held on to pull off an upset of the Sooners (3-3).

Chaminade (4-2) led by 10 midway through the second half, withstood Oklahoma’s late rally and held on down the stretch.
