Decorative melting pot
A pair of the state’s longtime antiques retailers have joined forces to create one eclectic selection of Asian and European pieces. Rusty Staff, founder of DecorAsian in Boulder and Denver, and Stuart Hough, a longtime expert in European antiques, have opened EurAsian Interiors at 1787 S. Broadway. The space includes several galleries, as well as a large warehouse. The stock is a mix of offerings from New Guinea, the Himalayas, Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, India, Afghanistan and Iran, along with rare, refined and rustic European pieces. Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, call 303-998-5632.

Tree ease
Yule a Hoop is a Colorado-made product designed with busy merrymakers in mind. It’s a small green ring that slips over the top of a holiday tree and then neatly holds ribbons, lights or garlands in place. Makers say: “The Yule A Hoop turns a novice into a skilled decorator.” They cost $10 for two at , where shoppers also can watch a demonstration video.
Light up a child’s life
Once again, Ace Hardware stores throughout the region are accepting stands of holiday lights for recycling to benefit Lights For Life, which sells the donated light strands to a recycling company for the copper and PVC they contain. Lights For Life is a nonprofit organization benefitting kids with cancer and their families. Last year, 14 tons of donated holiday lights enabled the organization to raise $14,000.
