MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FedEx says it has found radioactive rods used for medical equipment that went missing during shipment between North Dakota and Tennessee.

Sandra Munoz, spokeswoman for Memphis-based FedEx, said Friday that the rods used for quality-control purposes for CT scans were found at the shipping company’s Knoxville, Tenn., facility.

The company had to notify authorities this week after the rods went missing while being sent from Fargo, N.D., to Knoxville. The rods posed no danger, as long as they were not removed from the metal cylinder in which they were stored.
