The uniquely Colorado weather will bring a little bit of everything this weekend.
The National Weather service calls for a “beautiful day” on Saturday with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 50s, clouds on Sunday, and a chance for snow Sunday night and Monday.
The metro area has a 40 percent chance for snow on Sunday night, and 20 percent chance on Monday.
“If we get an inch of snow, we’ll be lucky,” said Frank Benton, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Monday’s possible snow shower would probably not drop measurable amounts, Benton said.
November is Colorado’s second snowiest month, and Denver averages 16.9 inches of snow by the end of November.
So far Denver has had 1.5 inches of snow.
Benton said during a La Nina year, winters are usually drier, warmer and windier, but it’s still too premature to worry about snowpack levels and drought for next year.
Although Denver has kept the snow away, the mountains in Colorado have had closer to normal amounts.
Denver’s high on Sunday will be in the 40s and lows in the 20s.
Benton said the next earliest chance for snow after Monday in Denver would be for next weekend.
