Getting your player ready...

Height: 5-feet-10.

Weight: 148 pounds.

Age: 16. Born: March 11, 1994, in Asuncion, Paraguay.

High school sport: Volleyball, (middle blocker, 2010 Class 1A MVP of the state tournament by The Denver Post).

Grade-point average: 4.0.

Class: Junior.

My favorite subject: History.

My favorite athlete: Kerri Walsh.

My favorite team: Nebraska volleyball.

What I listen to: Country and rock ‘n’ roll.

The best things on my training table: Milk, fruit and vegetables.

Prematch ritual: I always want to have something different on me, on my hair, on a sock, something away from the rest of the players.

Time management tip: Try not to procrastinate. I keep a planner to keep organized, then cross off something and add something else. I also write sports articles for the South Platte Sentinel. So I’m just always busy. I do not like being bored.

Planned career: Nurse or journalist.

My family: Parents Connie and Dave, sister Amanda, brother Darian.

I would love to visit: Africa.

What high school sports mean to me: First of all, I love them to death. The whole thing helps with school, it’s a friend thing and teaches you responsibility, self-respect and kind of real-world situations. You’re going to have teammates you don’t get along with, but you have to get along with them. It’s like in the work world.
