OLATHE — It will be a seven-minute stretch of football that will be tough to top for Olathe quarterback Keifer Wollert.

The Pirates senior threw two touchdowns and ran for another in the second quarter. That proved to be all Olathe (11-2) needed to avenge an early season loss to Florence and advance to next Saturday’s title game with a 24-20 victory.

Coach Ryan Corn’s Pirates, who won it all in 2008, will play Brush (10-2) at 11 a.m. at Legacy Stadium.

Wollert, who finished 6-for-12 for 146 yards, sandwiched a 47-yard touchdown run between two Zach Cosper touchdown receptions — 73 and 21 yards — to give the Pirates a 21-7 lead late in the second quarter.

Florence answered with two scores before halftime from Austin Reeves and Tyler Faoro to cut the lead to 21-20 at the half.

Olathe’s Kyle Piatt led all rushers with 107 yards on 18 carries.
