A recall effort against Denver school-board member Andrea Merida has been abandoned because not enough signatures were gathered.
Jose Silva, organizer of the recall, had 60 days, starting Sept. 30, to gather the signatures. Silva managed to collect 3,700 of the required 4,342 to force a recall election.
