Among the four people Gov. Bill Ritter appointed to judgeships Monday was Craig Welling, who has been Ritter’s chief counsel since February.
Welling was appointed to the 17th Judicial District, which serves Adams and Broomfield counties.
Robert Walter Kiesnowski Jr. — the in-house counsel for the Denver Police Protective Association — was appointed as a district judge in the 17th District.
Brian Nathaniel Bowen of Brighton was appointed as an Adams County Court judge. And Thomas Ray French of Fort Collins was appointed as a judge in the 8th District, which serves Jackson and Larimer counties.
