DENVER—Flags are being lowered across Colorado in remembrance of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Gov. Bill Ritter has directed that U.S. and state flags at state buildings be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday.

More than 2,200 sailors, Marines and soldiers were killed in the Japanese attack 69 years ago.

About 100 survivors, the youngest of whom are in their late 80s, are gathering in Hawaii to mark the occasion. The event is being held across the harbor from the USS Arizona, which sank in the attack.
